I wanted to name this recipe “The Cheesiest Baked Cheesy Fries” but that’s a bit of a mouthful. It would, however, imply that these Baked Cheese Fries are so cheesy, they’re like cheese fries on steroids. And they are…
Seriously. Cheese lovers, rejoice!
This recipe has been in my recipe arsenal (i.e. my head because I’m literally the WORST at writing things down…) for years. I like to make this dish when I have guests, as a cheesy addition to a delicious party spread.
Friends and family love these baked cheese fries. They’re made with two types of cheese — parmesan and cheddar, generously seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder and thickened with heavy whipping cream. They’re what dreams are made of…creamy and gooey and wonderful.
I plan too whip up a batch of these to take to a Superbowl party next weekend. If you’re still deciding on your game day menu these baked cheese fries pair perfectly with my Vegan Black Bean Sliders.
- 16 ounces frozen french fries about 1/2 package
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- Parsley dried
- Salt and papper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Defrost french fries, then use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture.
Arrange fries in a casserole dish.
Season generously with salt and pepper. Add garlic powder.
Pour in whipping cream. Fries should be fully immersed in liquid.
Sprinkle with cheese. Then add parsley and more salt and pepper, if desired.
Cover with lightly greased aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour or until cheese is golden brown.
